Society of Salvage: Where History Gets a Second Shot

Industrial decor warehouse design

Since 2013, Society of Salvage has specialized in saving materials with soul. What started as a 10,000 sq. ft. brick-and-mortar storefront just east of downtown Indianapolis evolved into a full-time mission to rescue and repurpose the overlooked. Over the years, we sourced and sold everything from industrial workbenches and apothecary cabinets to vintage medical equipment, steel lockers, oak office furniture, and church fixtures.

We worked closely with demolition firms, developers, set designers, and small businesses—recovering architectural details, industrial pieces, and historic elements just days before the wrecking ball or asbestos crews came in. The goal was always the same: keep quality materials out of landfills and get them back into use.

Retail is tough, and after nearly a decade of heavy lifting, the storefront closed—but the work hasn’t stopped. Society of Salvage now operates as a consulting and project-based business, offering strategic support for antique dealers, salvage operators, & creative entrepreneurs who need help refining operations, sourcing materials, or revamping their brand & marketing approach.

Whether it's helping an antique store reimagine its layout or advising on how to turn a warehouse full of parts into a sellable story, this next chapter is still rooted in the same core idea: there’s value in what most people overlook—you just need to know how to see it.
